Well, after skipping last week altogether, I intended to do a full-blown What I Ate Wednesday post this time. I even journaled my eats and did a fairly decent job of not eating too too much — just 235 calories over my Lose It! limit.
I started out snapping pictures like a champ Tuesday, but by the end of the day, I was forgetting to take them.
So I bring you WIAW, the half-a$$ed edition.

Breakfast was a Mango-Pineapple Smoothie: 1/2 cup each frozen mango and pineapple, 1/2 cup cottage cheese, 1 cup almond milk, 1/4 cup water and about 5 ice cubes.
Then I headed to Best Buy to finally get the freezer problem straightened out. When I got my most recent statement, the freezer that I returned on July 5 hadn’t been credited to my account, as they assured me it would be. After 45 minutes or so, everything was taken care of.
Ah well. At least I had plenty of time to whittle down the contents of my feedly reader. I’m down to fewer than 80 posts now. Considering I had 300 a couple of weeks ago, I’m very pleased with the progress.
Next stop: Starbucks. I’d considered stopping downtown for a slice of pizza and a salad or a bagel sandwich, but when I hit downtown, a train effectively cut me off from Biff’s Bagels and Fratelli’s Pizza … so I went straight to Starbucks instead. I was a bit perturbed that I’d been at Best Buy for close to an hour anyway, and didn’t want to waste any more of my precious pre-work writing time.
I ended up with a ham and cheese croissant and an orange spice iced coffee (made with sugar-free cinnamon dolce syrup).
I got the bio that’ll be included with my book written — another thing that took me a lot longer than you might think (and much longer than I wanted it to). I don’t understand how I can knock out 500 words — or more, if I’m on a roll — in an hour, yet a simple paragraph takes for-ever.
On my way in to work, I stopped at McDonald’s. The ham and cheese croissant, while yummy and not too costly on the calorie front at 330 calories, didn’t completely kill my hunger.
But instead of pigging out, I got a small burger (the grilled onion cheddar burger) and a side salad. Perhaps not the best choice, but better than a value meal with a quarter pounder and fries (and probably a milkshake). I’m trying to ease back into better choices before I start the GoFitGals bootcamp.
That’s the end of my photos. The rest of the day’s eats included some pretzel crisps with hummus, some garlic potato chips, peanut butter crackers, a mini Drumstick and a Healthy Choice Steamers dinner (Spicy General Tso’s Chicken). Sadly, the dinner wasn’t spicy enough to clear out my sinuses. (I live in eternal hope.)
Having a head full of snot is no fun, let me tell you. You know you’re sick when you go through an entire box of Puffs in less than a week. I took them in from the trunk of my car on Wednesday or Thursday, and used the last one Tuesday night. That’s some serious nose-blowing.
Softball tonight! Our team’s doing pretty well this season. I think we’re second in the standings. Hope I feel well enough to play my best. My best softball skills are barely adequate — if I can’t give it my all, I might as well not even show up. A newborn giraffe could play better than me.
