I hate Mondays

Dreaded scaleLike Garfield, the cartoon cat who often laments the start of the week, I’m really starting to hate Mondays.

It’s not because Monday is my weigh-in day. Actually, WI went just fine: I’m down another 1.4 pounds, for a total of 11.2 since I re-started WW on Jan. 1.

That’s great news for more than one reason. Not only have I lost more than 10 pounds in 3 weeks, but it means I’ve won my Diet Bet with Roni … provided I don’t regain before the end of the month. (And since I plan to continue with WW and working out, I hope to lose again next week.) Even if I just win back my initial investment, I’ll be a happy camper.

And if I win more? That’s just icing on the cake.

No, the scale isn’t my problem with Mondays. It’s the solo shift at work. I have to do ALL the pages, and even though it’s only 11 or 12 pages, it seems like a lot — especially when I end up having to re-do them. It stresses me out and I’ve started to dread going to work on Mondays.

Plus, on most Mondays, I have to leave the Boyfriend and go back to reality. (This week I was already home.) Last week, it was on a Monday that I left my laptop charger at his place.

At least I got some writing done before work. I also stopped at the local WW meeting room and picked up copies of the “Eat Out” and “Shop” guides. Helpful tools, I know. Can’t wait to start perusing them.

In case you were wondering, the TJ’s Thai Green Curry Simmer Sauce was delicious. I poured it over a pound of chicken in the Crock Pot and let it cook overnight. When I woke up, the kitchen smelled heavenly. I whipped up a batch of cauliflower rice and dug in for lunch. Yum!

Better yet, I have leftovers. A serving came out to be about 1/2 cup curried chicken and 3/4 cup of “rice” for 5 WW Points. Tasty and low in Points. Who could ask for anything more?

I could: I could ask for a Trader Joe’s right here in my hometown. Are you listening, TJ’s execs? Come to Flagstaff. ASAP. Prescott is still a bit of a haul.

A Skinny Jeans Challenge update: This week’s recipe looks fantastic. And while I already messed up the weekly challenge — to get 30 minutes of exercise every day — I’m going to try to tackle it every day for the rest of the week. (I didn’t even check the challenge email until I was at Starbucks, settling in to write before work.)

That, of course, will necessitate getting up the first time my alarm goes off. I set the alarm for 9:30 Monday and ended up sleeping til 11. Just one more reason to hate Mondays: It’s so hard to leave my warm, toasty bed.
