Despite that, I just couldn’t stay away. What can I say? It’s a sickness!
I’m kind of glad I did weigh in, though: I was down a pound from last week.
That’s right. Somehow, some way, I managed to lose a pound despite indulging through another weekend and Monday at work. (I totally ran to Dairy Queen for a pumpkin pie Blizzard Monday night after seeing someone’s photo Tweet. I knew that, since I planned to start eating paleo Tuesday, it was now or never for the Blizzard — and I didn’t want it to be “never.” So I left the office, which I never do anymore, drove to DQ and wolfed it down. Delicious, yes. But so not worth jeopardizing my health.)
That still means I’m up 3 pounds from two weeks ago … and 6 pounds from my “209 by Oct. 15” goal.
But it’s a step in the right direction, so I’m pleased.
Breakfast was two fried eggs over leftover sweet potato hash, augmented with diced zucchini and mushrooms. (at about 11 a.m.)
Lunch was a burger, over lettuce, with sauteed onion, bell pepper and mushroom — and a side of sweet potato fries from BK. (at 4 p.m.)
I snacked on a homemade Larabar (5-ish) and, later (8 or 9), a Honeycrisp apple with some homemade nut butter. Then, when I got home from work, I finally heated up my dinner: a bowlful of Slow Cooker Pork Loin from Robb Wolf’s “The Paleo Solution.”
I must have done something wrong, because that stuff has a funky smell. It tastes perfectly fine, though, so I’ll have to deal with the stink. Dinner was capped off with a handful of walnuts and pecans, and now I’m doing a bit of blogging before bed.
