I have another sentiment to add to yesterday’s fun “sometimes you feel” post:
Sometimes you feel like diving headfirst into a big slab of chocolate cake — but you don’t, because it’s not special low-carb cake.
The urge was emotional eating at its finest, brought on by yet another rejection. That’s my second in a week … and it was enough to make me doubt whether I should be writing at all. But that’s another story.
I fought the urge to consume carbs, even after checking out the lone donut left in the newsroom after the editor’s Monday morning coffee klatch with readers. (If it had been a chocolate cake donut, I might not have been so strong … but it was some yeasty-cinnamon twist. Easy to say “no” to.)
This morning, I plan to hit the treadmill. Hard. W7D2 of C25K calls for another 25-minute run. Since my last one was nearly a week ago, it’s past time.
Monday’s hike didn’t happen. I woke up at 10 a.m. to an empty house. The sleeping in was nice, but did nothing for my waistline, I’m sure.
I did, however, sign up for Round Two of Tina’s Best Body Bootcamp. I was super excited to get in on the fun — and challenge.
Strange how the day started out so promising (sleeping in, committing to bootcamp) and turned into a big bummer (rejection, near-tears). At least we got some rain … and I got off work early.
This is my last week of work before I have two weeks off for vacation. I hope these last four workdays go by quickly!
