All morning long, I thought it was Wednesday. My confusion doesn’t qualify it as a bad day, right?
I hope not, because for the most part, it was a good Tuesday.
Having hit the snooze button on my iPhone several times, I slept in later than I’d planned. Unfortunately, that didn’t bode well for Tuesday’s workout — but that’s the only thing I’d have done differently.
I started the day with brunch: a two-egg omelet with 1/4 cup diced zucchini, 2 Tablespoons of green onion and a slice of cheddar cheese. Yum! I love a good omelet.
Once my dinner was packed and the dishes were done, I headed to Starbucks for some writing time before work … and instead of reworking old stuff, I actually got NEW words. A lot of new words. Nearly 2K in the three hours I spent there.
That was great. Even better? I had a free drink coupon. Of course that meant I had to get one of my famous faux Frappuccinos. Better that than the real thing, right?
I really think I’m going to have to face the sad fact that I might be lactose intolerant. Every time I drink something with dairy, I have a not-so-pleasant reaction. But for now, I’ll remain in denial. It ain’t just a river in Egypt, after all. (Anyone know where that line is from? Chime in.)
No stop for fast food on the way to the office for me today — in part because I was on a writing roll and left about 15 minutes after I’d planned to. Also, I wasn’t all that hungry, thanks to brunch and my cream-laden treat.
I did manage to work up an appetite for a late-afternoon snack. Roni mentioned feeding Ryan cucumber slices with pepperoni and Laughing Cow as an after-school snack, and I thought it sounded pretty good. So I stuck a few cucumber and pepperoni “sandwiches” in my lunch bag.
I love the vibrant red and green colors — and they taste pretty awesome, too. I bet they’d be even better with real pepperoni, but this time I used turkey pepperoni. It’s more like the real stuff than turkey bacon, for sure.
Dinner was the last portion of my batch of Italian Beef served with a slice of low-carb bread and a cup of spinach. I didn’t cook the spinach, but I mixed the raw leaves with the hot beef. They ended up wilting nicely.
I drank a ton of water today — so much that I lost track of how many times I got up to go to the bathroom. It’s tough to concentrate on work when you have to pee.
I’m hoping my on-track day will show up on the scale Thursday morning. See? I was still laboring under the impression that it was Wednesday — I almost typed “this morning.” I can get in another day of good eats and exercise before I have to weigh in for the week.
I can do it.
