Up this week

Yeah, the scale wasn’t so kind to me this morning: I was up 0.8 pounds. I guess I could call it a wash … but I won’t.

I’m not making excuses, either. I have the eating under control — amazingly under control. I was thinking just the other day that my lunch looked like one on some of the blogs I read: I had an ounce of cheddar, a hard-boiled egg and a dill pickle, along with a homemade salted caramel mocha frappe.

And when I was done eating, I wasn’t hungry.

I did add plain Greek yogurt into my day … guess that could have been a mistake. I’ll have to see what happens if I avoid higher-carb dairy this week.

So if the food isn’t a problem, it has to be the exercise. I’ve gotten decidedly lazy. Aside from our softball game (which got rained out halfway through), I didn’t work out at all last week. I need to start walking again, especially now that the weather is cooler.

Welcome back

This morning, I started the day with an old friend: Greek yogurt.

That’s right. I’m in the second phase of Atkins, Ongoing Weight Loss … and that means I’m adding things back into my day.

Today’s addition was 3 ounces of plain Greek yogurt, sweetened with a little Splenda and topped with 1/4 cup of strawberries.  The bowl totalled 6 Net Carbs.

And it was delicious. I forgot how thick and creamy Greek yogurt is. Yum!

Now I just have to decide whether it produced unwanted cravings.  I don’t think so. I still had 4 carbs left at the end of the day.

Hey, look — that’s me!

A while ago, I got an e-mail from Abby at Woman’s Day, asking me to send her my favorite snack (including a photo) for her Food Blogger Friday feature.

Well, I was going through a rough patch. By the time I got around to enjoying my favorite healthy snack, so much time had passed that I figured I’d missed my opportunity.

I didn’t. Look what appeared on the Woman’s Day website last week. That’s me!

Pretty cool, huh?
