Making 2012 My Best Year Yet

Here’s where I’ll keep track of the little things I do daily to make 2012 my best year yet.

Jan. 2 — Tried a new recipe (Atkins Classic Ham Salad) and enjoyed watching WWE Monday Night Raw with the Boyfriend

Jan. 3 — Lingered in the shower and savored my Starbucks latte (made with heavy cream and sugar-free syrup)

Jan. 4 — Used the Christmas gift card from my brother and his family to pick up the new Atkins cookbook, “The New Atkins for a New You Cookbook.” Found several recipes I want to try.

Jan. 6 — After work, threw ingredients for a new recipe in the Crock Pot to cook overnight — and made a double batch of curried nuts.

Jan. 8 — Rode the exercise bike during commercial break while watching an all-day cheesy movie marathon with the Boyfriend.

Jan. 9 — Spent the morning at Starbucks, writing.

Jan. 10 — Liked what I saw when I looked at myself in the mirror. (This should be an everyday happening, I know. I’m working on that.)

Jan. 20 — Got tired of waiting to find time for a haircut and trimmed my own bangs. (They don’t look half bad, though I purposely left them a little long so the hairdresser can pretty them up when I finally get there.)

Jan. 23 — Thoroughly enjoyed seeing WWE’s “Monday Night Raw” live in Phoenix.

Jan. 25 — Decided to pay full price for a pair of jeans from Old Navy. Even if I’m not at my goal weight, I’m worth it. (Plus, at the rate I’m losing, I’ll get plenty of wear out of them.)

Feeling fine (and slimmer) in a cute outfit from Old Navy.

Jan. 26 — Rocked the new jeans. Looking — and feeling — great was definitely worth the price I paid.

Feb. 2 — Reset all my radio presets to stations I’m loving now.

Feb. 3 — Called my brother.

Feb. 4 — Spent part of morning in the kitchen, prepping eats for weekend.
