When I got home from the Boyfriend’s last weekend, a big, brown box waited for me.
Because I’d just gotten off work, it was late — or early, depending on your perspective. It was after midnight, anyway.
At that hour, my brain wasn’t firing on all cylinders. “What’s in there?” I wondered aloud. “I haven’t ordered anything recently.”
Curious, I ripped off the tape and lifted the box’s flaps. This greeted me.
Yep. It’s my Best Body Bootcamp prize pack from Attune Foods. The box held three boxes of cereal: Erewhon (pronounced air-wahn) Strawberry Crisp, Rice Twice and Crispy Brown Rice.
According to the note that came in the box, Erewhon Organic cereals are “Real food in the center aisle.” They contain no synthetic additives or preservatives, no artificial colors or flavors, no hydrogenated oils and no refined flour or sugar.
What they do contain is pure ingredients (organic whenever possible), natural flavors and sweeteners and non-GMO ingredients.
Sounds great, right? What’s not to love about a brand that gets its name from a 19th-century novel. Author Samuel Butler’s Erewhon was a utopia where each person was responsible for his/her own health.
“We strive to make that possible in a packaged food,” the note says.
I can’t wait to dig in!
